  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role consists of assessing the financial viability of business plans for potential postmasters, thoroughly checking the applicants supporting documents and their full Post Office application to mitigate and potential financial risk or theft to the Post Office. Review, analyse and interpret agents’ prior financial statements, forecasts and business assumptions to ensure that their business proposals are realistic and achievable.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt various new skills, I am currently running month end P&L's for the Postmaster area to report to management.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am thoroughly enjoying my Programme and the live online classes have helped my motivation significantly.

  • Very well structured, I am now planning to go straight in to CIMA.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support for exam preparation and study time. My manager has recently offered some help with my portfolio and has said I can get involved with more tasks to help me complete this.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive support from training provide once every 6 weeks which is more than enough for me as I would prefer to spend time studying. Tutors are also available to contact if I wish to.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification will help me reach the role I wish to do and better my career in finance.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Many things have been advertised on Yammer however social activities have been impacted by the pandemic. I have been holding a virtual social games night with my team to have interaction with others.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have enjoyed my PO journey so far, I wish to stay at PO and develop my career here for many years. I have received so much support to improve my career and I am very thankful for that. I plan to work my absolute hardest to better myself and the Post Office Limited.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Post Office?
  • Take part in courses available to better your job role and yourself.
