  • The work experience was an amazing opportunity that gave me a big insight into what it would be like to work in such an incredible law firm. It involved different types of laws. For example Criminal, medical negligence, business and financial. It was spread out into what a normal day would typically look like.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • I learned how to organise my time and get prepared for the day and even the rest of the week. I trained to make sure that I was on time and knew what I was doing so that I could focus on getting the tasks done and feeling like I am in the law firm.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • To a large extent I enjoyed my work experience. This is because it gave me a clear indication of what a working lifestyle and environment would be like in an area that I am quite passionate about. It shows what hard work and dedication you need to put into it to make sure you work as hard as possible.

  • My work experience was well organised. This is because we had a timetable sent to us a few weeks before we started the work experience to get us prepared for what we would be doing. The timetable was very well organised as in each day was different and focused on a specific law section.

  • I learned a lot about the company and what it would be like to work there. This is because we had genuine people who work at the law firm for a living personally speak to us and give us their indication and opinion of how they feel about working there and what they have to do on a day to day basis.

  • My work experienced helped me massively in deciding on my future career path. This is because we did different sections of law each day and went into specific information of each one and found out what it is like to work in that sector and what it contains in it.

  • I was not paid or reimbursed for this experience. However it has given me more than what money could. This is because it has given me like skills and information that is vital for my future career in law. It has been an amazing experience that you wouldn't even be bothered about money.

  • There were many opportunities for networking and meeting others. Although it was an online event we were on face to face meetings and were able to see each other and talk normally like we would usually do. This gave me the confidence to be able to ask what I wanted whenever.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend it to a friend because it is the best law firm around and you learn so much in such a short space of time which such amazing people in each different section that there is. I would defiantly make sure that they give it a go if they get the opportunity.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Irwin Mitchell?
  • I would just tell them to go for it and not even think about it. It will give them the best life experience and prepare them for the big wide world. There are so many amazing people that would help them for their future life no matter what career path they choose.
