  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • The work experience was a fantastic opportunity to hear from a range of talented trainees. Everyone on this programme was accomodating and knowledgable, despite it being completely online. I particularly enjoyed the interactive sessions, where we were able to deabte and argue viewpoints, even if we did not necessarily agree with them.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I absolutely loved it, the programme co-ordinators, trainee solicitors and other staff, were incredibly nice. They all answered the questions to the best of their ability, offering us all insight into Pinsent and Masons and how their values are implemented into the workplace, within every sector they all work at.

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • It was seamless, in the sense that everything worked without a hitch and every speaker knew what they were doing. They were kind enough to send us emails and holding a demo webinar to demonstrate how to access the work experience and fully reap the rewards that this placement has to offer.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • We learnt an incredible amount about company culture, particularly through the pre-recorded videos, as we were able to hear directly from people who work at the firm. We also have been able to look at the firms different, support networks, for those from different faiths and sexualities. Also we heard a lot about their approach to mental health.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • It solidified my career path to becoming a commercial solicitor. This was because I was able to ask a range of questions to a variety of panelists. Allowing me to fully understand what the life and career of a commercial solicitor was like, especially one at such a prestigous firm.

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • Due to the fact that this programme was for students, only 3 days and completed virtually, there wasn't anything to be re-imbursed nor anywork that we completed that we could be paid for. Howeer, they did have a virtual bingo at the end of the day where 2 students won a £10 voucher.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • Due to the fact that the we are all under 18 for safeguarding prposes, we're unable to connect with the people we met on Linkedin. Howver, we were given plenty of opportunities to talk and network amongst another, as we are all student on the PRIME work experience programme.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would reccomend Pinsent Masons to a friend, because it's clearly a firm that cares about its employees. This can be seen through their corporate sociual responsibility, but also through their treatment of employees, as they provide Faith networks and LGBTQ+ networks, that work to support different types of people working at their firm.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • I would reccomend that those who take place in the PRIME work experience programme at Pinsent Masons, or any other firm, to be fully engaged and to remain pro active in the conversations. This can be done by asking questions, but also by not being afraid to answer questions that may have been asked.
