  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis my tasks include managing suppliers of parts for the Toyota Corolla, ensuring that any late shipments and/or mislabelled boxes are dealt with quickly and efficiently, and ensuring that this is done safely. I also undertake several weekly/monthly tasks to help my team, such as updating our contacts database

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed new and existing skills during my time here. For example, my time management and communication skills have vastly improved; this is due to the fact that I regularly have to co-ordinate with suppliers and speak to them via email and on the phone. Having a full-time job has also taught me discipline in terms of ensuring that I am always on time for work/meetings

  • The programmed is very well organised; we have regular courses to develop our skills as well as projects to undertake for learning and development. • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualifications have helped me to have a foundation of knowledge for the role, so that I don't feel like I am completely in the dark. Without this knowledge I would have felt like I was not prepared for the role. However, on the job training allows me to learn more every day.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At the moment, during the COVID pandemic, there are not very many extra-curricular activities to get involved with, however every Friday there is the option to join a 30 minute Wellbeing chat. This is just a short session to think about other things, not work related and to chat to other people.
