  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am Supervisor to a team of Fleet Controllers who book defects and routine servicing for a large fleet of vehicles. My role involves ensuring team are meeting minimum expectations and supporting their training and development daily. Also responsible for reducing out vehicles off road, controlling departments costs and ensuring correct decisions made in terms of where our vehicles are maintained/repaired

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During the apprenticeship I have gained tools that help me to manage difficult situations including challenging my Manager when he was not letting me perform my duties fully. I also pick up planning techniques to help me improve my confidence in meeting with higher levels of management and have worked on projects which I have never done before.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • What I like in completing this was during group sessions I realised that issues I was dealing with were common and it was not just myself that struggled in certain areas. As well as this is gave me confidence that there were elements I was good at and was able to help others within my business also attending the course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Initially i felt a little confused as had several skills coaches all had different takes on what I should do. Once I had Louise allocated to me she was very supportive , helped me to understand my direction and how what I did daily contributed to the criteria I needed to fill. Her support guided me to a distinction result.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer supported me every step of the way allowing me time to complete Off the job, provided me with a mentor from outside my department when I asked for support which gave me a different insight. The Management team we also supportive in completion of the apprenticeship and in advise on my future career progression at enterprise.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I could not fault the advise and support given to me by my skills coach during the apprenticeship. She was always at the end of the phone and if busy always called me back to give me the advise I needed when I was stuck / concerned about my progress. No query was too small for her at all and is thanks to her I got the strong grade I did.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This has had a huge impact on my role my confidence in dealing with underperformers and speaking to higher management has grown. I have grown a lot in the last 18 months and want to show to others conducting this course how it has helped me and how if you put the effort in you are rewarded.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • They have been challenging in covid lockdown but we have conducted virtual quiz nights on Kahoot which are immense fun we had a good turn out and hope to expand this further. When we are in the office we have team get togethers fairly regularly in small groups as well as planned group activities for the whole office.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Enterprise Mobility to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • If you want to develop in your career the whole management team will support you and give you advise on how you can get to where you want to be. The team are friendly and we all work towards one goal. The whole of the management team are supportive of any issues and will assist where possible if you are experiencing personal issues, and if cannot help will point you in the right direction.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Enterprise Mobility?
  • If you have the drive and determination and want to develop a lasting career then Enterprise Rent A Car is the place for you. You will get all the training and development you need no only to enable you to do your current role but far beyond also. I joined as a Temp 3 and half years ago and am now Maintenance Supervisor and have no plan to stop developing now. Possibilities are endless if you want them
