  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • Over the Three days we attended Microsoft Teams calls where we listened to trainee solicitors and other people involved with Pinsent Masons. We also completed tasks and research which was very beneficial. There was also a few pre recorded videos around the different areas of law which gave an insight to the background of these lawyers.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • From this work experience I learnt how to read between the lines of cases and how to deal with them correctly. I also gained good communication skills when communicating with the fellow students of this work experience. This work experience also helped me gain knowledge on how to think and act like someone qualified in law.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I thought the work experience was amazing! I made a lot of new friendships among my fellow students as we made a group chat where we can all discuss the past few days! I feel that I gained a lot of knowledge around commercial law and definitely see it as a future option for me!

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • I feel that it was organised well. At the start of the week we received a schedule of presentations and tasks for us to attend and complete. The schedule was stuck to well however, the surveys at the end of the week were a set back as there was a lot of confusion around them.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • I feel that I learnt a lot about the company culture as we were told about how different people from Pinsent Masons are tied in to the company. I also learnt about the day to day life of some of the employees and how they go about their day of work.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • Initially I aspired to be a family lawyer as I have a keen interest in that area of law as it touches home. However, this work experience has gave me more knowledge and more of a understanding of a finacial lawyer and it has definitley broadened my choices for the future.

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • I was not, which was expected as i volunteered my own time and you typically do not get paid for attending a work expereince. I do not care about the payments however as i feel like i have learnt a great deal about finacial law and the different routes of it

  • yes there was! we met a lot of different people who amazingly gave up their own time to tell us all about the world of work surrounding pinsent masons. I loved that so many people have spoken to us as it has gave me great insight into the business and its employees

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would becuase it really helped me decide on my future and helped me to learn a lot more about finacial law firms which i did not really know much about. Pinsent Masons work expereince was an amazing opportunity and I think more people should be able to expereince it too!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • I would tell people to make sure that they do background research of the company to make sure they know what they are signing up for. I would also say that you should make your application stand out to ensure that you are picked as it is a tough company
