  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I clean and analyse data to derive insights that aid the business in reaching their goals. I liaise with internal stakeholders to inform decision making.

    8/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt technical skills such as Python, Pandas, NumPy and Jupyter Labs. I've also learnt soft skills such as efficient and effective teamworking and good leadership.

    10/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I generally enjoy it. Some of the course material seems irrelevant and/or out of date and tutors can be hard to get hold of when I need to ask a question. EY have been very supportive, making sure the work is relevant to the course module where possible.

    7/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Fairly well structured. Sometimes it seemed like their weren't the resources available to give me the support and learning I needed to be able to contribute to the team which was frustrating.

    7/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • It varies from team to team. Some teams are very supportive and others I had to fight to be able to get exposure to technology needed to complete assignments.

    6/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Some support. Tutors are not always available to answer questions when I felt they should be. Some tutors do not reply to emails at all.

    4/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It is mostly irrelevant to my role as the learning is out of date/not current enough to be useful.

    3/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty of network events and socials for example netball teams, after-work drinks and talks from subject matter experts.

    10/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The experience I have had has been overwhelmingly positive and I feel like I am in a better position coming to the end of my degree than my peers who only went to university.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Do plenty of research before hand to know what working at the Big 4 firms are really like.
