  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am in testing within technology and am the Test Data Management Lead on one of the biggest projects in the bank. Day to day - I speak to my team, report to senior managers and plan, strategise and work with stakeholders to get the results required on the project.

  • Planning Coding Gathering requirements confidence to speak to stakeholders hold conference calls with 30+ people Leading a team

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love what I do. It can be hard sometimes to balance University work and Bank work, however the Bank is really good at being flexible and understanding of all challenges which exist as an apprentice.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised, such good opportunities to get involved with and get outside your comfort zone in order to build your skills and meet new people.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Loads of support. My line-manager is very supportive and I know I can go to him for anything to do with Uni or work related items and everything within my department is incredibly supportive and always willing to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We have a lecture once a week from the university to cover modules and then we have tasks to go off and complete. There is a lot of support however in the lectures I would like to see longer lectures and I would prefer more interactive sessions instead of classroom based learning.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Very well structured and aligned with the bank. A lot of things I have learnt at work have been transferable to my university work and vise versa.

  • Yes

  • 9a. Would you recommend Bank of England to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a brilliant place to work. Very prestigious, everyone is very friendly and as a young apprentice you are given a lot of responsibility and working with real projects and real issues.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bank of England?
  • Be ambitious and it is good to be scared and nervous, the bank is amazing at making you feel welcome and getting you introduced to everyone.
