  • I have learnt a verity of different skills. One of the main skills have have developed is my ability to use Microsoft Excel. Before I started my apprenticeship I had very little knowledge of Microsoft Excel and how to use it. Now I am able to create various reports and use numerous different functions on Microsoft Excel. One of these include the Vlookup function which I did not know how to use before starting my apprenticeship.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy being apart of the programme, the team I am working in are all nice and helpful people which makes work and the programme enjoyable. Also as part of the apprenticeship I have got to know other apprentices in other offices through going to London for learning and development days. This enabled me to network with others and see what others experiences are like on the programme and if they are enjoying the programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification has helped me within my role to gain an understanding of how much I have learned throughout the time I was on the apprenticeship. For example for one of my missions I had to talk about the use of my IT skills, when writing my missions I realised how much I have developed over the past year.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved with. There is a group called the Young Professionals who arrange various different networking events over Zoom. During my apprenticeship there are opportunities to meet fellow apprentices for networking days in London. Meeting the other apprentices meant we could all talk about our experiences on the apprenticeship.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Marsh McLennan to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Marsh to a friend because they are a good employer to work for as I have had a positive experience when working on the apprenticeship scheme. Since finishing the apprenticeship I have been given a verity of opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge within the company. Also the support Marsh has given me to achieve a good grade in my apprenticeship.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Marsh McLennan?
  • When applying for the apprentice I would give the advice to be prepared for the interview. By thinking about past experiences and how they might apply to the role they have applied for. For the assessment day I had to answer a serious of questions which I was able to pre prepare for. My advice for this is not to read directly off the piece of paper and look at the assessor to engage them.
