  • Work in tech, part of database throughout the major parts of the bank. Consist of maintaining changes made to databases and corresponding environments

  • Learnt new tech-based skills not taught at school or university. These include advanced coding, writing and presentation skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Great so far. Difficult at times due to the covid situation but support is always there when needed

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Lots of support and structured events throughout the working year that aid development in the business. The apprentice team works hard to make sure everyone is meeting expectations and enjoying what they are doing day today. Work closely with the university to ensure we learn everything needed on the course.

  • Lots from various sources such as colleagues, internal/external resources

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots but varied at times due to the covid situation making all learning remote. Difficult to learn and enjoy certain topics when remote and unable to get help as easy.

  • Doesn't fully link to my job role and day to day work currently but should change as I progress through the degree and become more specialised in my role

  • There are lots available but are currently heavily restricted due to covid so little is happening at the time of this review.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Great place to work, learn lots, respected, and encouraged to succeed in the business. Lots of personal benefits come alongside being an employee that other companies don't offer.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • Prepare for the application process and make sure you stand out to have a good chance of succeeding. Make sure you will be committed to the hours and responsibilities in order to gain full experience and have the best chance of employment after the course is complete.
