  • I am training at the moment but I am part of a team that manages the bank systems and ensuring that the applications at the Bank are up and running, ensuring code and the operations are sufficient no matter what

  • I have been learning how to program and developed my communication and analytical skills when working with various applications. This has been especially important when dealing with issues that come up from colleagues dealing with the systems as well.

  • I am able to have days of learning and development where I can acquire relevant knowledge but also days where I put that learning into practice. I am frequently in contact with my team so they are helpful in recommending ways to develop my learning.

  • Yes, there are communities which we can interact with as well as take part in other activities

  • Yes

  • It is very knowledge-oriented and prioritise being the best at what they do, protecting the national infrastructure with no compromises


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bank of England?
  • It is not like a corporate environment, very much casual and everyone likes to get to know each other so it makes it easier to know everyone and get help.
