  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in a warehouse where my jobs at the moment are picking materials and receipting material we receive in. We have a plan set out for our 2 years where we will be changing what we are doing every couple of weeks but some areas we could be doing it for longer.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have learnt a lot of new skills that I haven't yet come across as I have left school and started straight away on an apprenticeship.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy my programme, the people I work alongside are friendly and easy to get along with. The apprenticeship itself has started to get better now that there is a proper plan put in place for what we are meant to be learning and doing day to day.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • For the first couple of months I would say the programme wasn't organised as well as it was made out to be. However after talking with the managers and supervisors, a proper set out plan has been shown to us.

  • Sufficient amount of support.

  • Sufficient amount of support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification we are working towards covers all the basics and most things that are involved in the warehouse. So with this knowledge it enables me to perform at my best because I know the basics of what I'm supposed to be doing.

  • Yes.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Babcock to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It seems like a great place to start a long term future career and great for developing widely on the knowledge and skills you may have already achieved.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babcock?
  • Just make sure there is a definite plan before you accept the role because you don't want to be stuck where you feel like the role isn't what you expected and you're not enjoying it.
