  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role within Marsh is a Quality Assurance Technician / Client Advisor. My daily tasks include reviewing the insurance documentation to ensure it matches the requests made by the client as well as the terms agreed with underwriters. I largely interact with our broking team in London as well as our Norwich based fiduciary and processing teams. Occasionally I also interact directly with external underwriters. I am also responsible for creating endorsements and getting them agreed within in PPL to resolve any issues within our documentation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have very much enjoyed my programme. I was fresh into the world of insurance when starting my apprenticeship so had very little knowledge regarding the world of insurance. Starting with the basics and doing my CII qualification alongside the apprenticeship has helped me gradually progress my understanding in the world of insurance which has made developing into the job role far easier.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme was very well organised and structured. It consisted f structured webinars which carried out training for general insurance as well as specialised information in order to support me with both my coursework and my CII qualification. The programme also consisted of 20% off the job learning time which gave me allocated spare time to do research and study for both my job role and exams.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot support from my employer both in terms of developing within my job role as well as with completing my CII qualification and my apprenticeship. My employer has employees who are trained specifically to assist with the apprenticeship programme as well as my co-workers who were incredibly supportive and helpful in both allowing me time to work on my apprenticeship as well as providing good training and support within my job role.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification helped me ease into my role as a client advisor as I had no prior experience in insurance. It not only helped me understand the more general world of insurance, but also provided specific training that has greatly supported my knowledge and understanding of key terminology and workings of the insurance that I have to deal with on a daily basis.
