I shadow the current technicians in different roles/departments at London Heathrow airport.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many skills at the airport. Everything I have learnt has been filtered down from current technicians, especially hands on skills

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The job itself is amazing. You work in a dynamic workplace, i cant wait to have a career there and become a technician soon.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

There can be some improvements. Lack of communication is always a topic, not much transparency when we contact the apprentice manager.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

We get a lot of support from our employer. However again, a lack of communication so some topics go silenced

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The hands on work a lot. However the college stuff not so much

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the college, not much. Majority of people that are selected for the scheme have some sort of hands on experience. This is what the college teaches you

Work experience is key. A real key show of engineering and mechanical know how, lego, mechano when you were young
