I am responsible for the planning and budgeting of a region within Aldi. I also review budgets submitted by the non-centralised regions to assess their veracity. The role very much centres around business partnering and creating relationships with key stakeholders.
I believe I have developed many skills throughout the apprenticeship and whilst working in my new role. I am close to completing the CIMA qualification and this has allowed me to build on my analytical, leadership and professional skills.
I do enjoy the programme I am currently completing. The team I work in have been very supportive, as has management. I am near the end of this journey and I couldn't be more grateful that Aldi gave me this opportunity.
The programme that I am currently on was initially a trial within the business; I was part of this trial. I did find that the organisation initially was poor, however this has improved as the programme has been rolled out.
Due to the programme being mainly self-study there is no great need for my employer to be a large part of this. However, I have received help when I asked for it. My employer has been very supportive and allows me to sit exams in work time.
As this programme is mainly self-study there has not been too much help from the training provider. The do provide an online portal to help with studies, which includes online videos and support for key areas throughout the programme.
I believe that my job would be a lot harder without the knowledge from this qualification. I have found that the financial knowledge and understanding I have gained has allowed me to do a more efficient job.
We have a mid-year social every year, however due to COVID-19, this did not take place last year.
Yes
I believe it is a great company to work for and the team are friendly and supportive. Aldi supports their employees, which is shown through the provision of this apprenticeship programme.
As long as you try your hardest each day, you will be successful. Aldi gives a lot but you have to be prepared to give a lot back - this is not a negative point, as you have a lot to gain if you are dedicated and determined.
