  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role is both fabrication and welding, when fabbing i am working on a fast track bogey but sometimes i am sent down to the welders to possibly fill in for people away.

  • I feel i am becoming more independent and also my confidence has got a lot better in comparison to when i started, also my welding is getting lots better

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • at first it was hard to get used too and there is days you dont enjoy but overall i do like my job and the people who work here too make it better. i am glad i got into a appreticeship

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • at first our college situation wasnt very organised and we got very behind on work, but now we are catching up after work changed our colleges. at work it is very organised and we always have work to be keeping busy with

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is certain people at work who have been put in a role to check up on apprentices, also we are getting reviews every few months to make sure we are happy with how everything is going. Formans also check up on you on a daily basis

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of people are always working around you so you can always get help, college are always helping you to finish your apprenticeship and get all the qualifications you need.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I am happy with the skills i have learnt practically at hares, as i feel been a skilled engineer is a good trade to have. knowing the theory behind your work

  • There is multiple activites that you can get involved in at work, this includes football tournaments, walks, bike rides.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Its a very good trade and both the fabrication and welding are good skills to learn and can help you get a job all over the world if thats something you wanted to do.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to William Hare?
  • Always seem keen and ready to work hard, having an interest in the trade too will make the job more enjoyable.
