  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In each rotation you are trusted with responsibilities such as a full time colleague. Alongside this, the teams are extremely helpful in developing the Apprentice's technical knowledge as well as overall character development. Tasks I undertook involved: large data projects, communicating with external stakeholders, administrative tasks and collaborative tasks where a 'new, fresh' approach is listened to by senior members of the team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I created a basic knowledge of insurance through the qualifications as well as learning how to function professionally in an office and remote environment. Having interactions with people from all backgrounds and cultures helped develop skills in order to work fluently with anyone.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The ability to have rotations kept things fresh and didn't lead to the feeling of being stuck somewhere you may not enjoy. The culture of adopting apprentices' as members of the team in Lloyd's is strong and this really helps aid the enjoyment of the programme as you are included in everything both inside and outside of work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • There is a clear and concise structure to the programme. This is very helpful as it allows you to plan ahead and create goals for certain stages to meet. The clearer the target date the more likely you are to reach the goal at the specified time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support consisted of multiple sessions taken by external clients. a consistent approach was taken to sessions regarding qualifications, this helps maintain a steady flow of information and ensures people stay focused. Sessions that involved anything else were varied, this also helps people stay focused as you are never spending time redoing what you have learnt.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support is fantastic, and it is safe for me to say that without the training providers I would not have achieved so highly throughout the programme. The providers are open and friendly whilst also pushing you towards your goals.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualifications create a base level of knowledge that then allows you to build upon this to specialize in the area of your choosing. Without this base level of knowledge, there would be holes in your knowledge which would hinder progression if you decided to specialize too early.
