I haven't spoken to my manger for a while but my team are very helpful and friendly

The first induction module was very scheduled and well planned. When I first started, we were the first apprentices to ever be here so I think it can be better in terms of getting me doing different jobs but next year I'm sure they will rectify it.

Not very much from work and limited from QA. The QA class sessions for a week or two are very good and I learn a lot.

My manager, basically not much at all. As previously stated we haven't spoke in a while. I had a fantastic mentor but he has retired now but I don't hold that against him, its fair play really.

I do have to travel quite far to get to work so that puts me back £300 a month. Then I have rent of £250 a month. Then bus fare which is £50 a month. Also lunch costs £100 a month, that's just standard lunch. I only really get £300 a month maximum for myself and unfortunately I smoke so that takes around £50-£75 a month. Then gym membership is £12 a month and then my phone is £12 a month. That alone takes it down to less than £200 and I want to save up for a car but with that kind of money it makes it nearly impossible. All of my bills go on the first day so although its an apprenticeship and the government are the ones funding it, I still wish it was more but after the apprenticeship it will be worth it. Plus its way better than going to college or Uni so I cant complain about it but I wish Microsoft would fund at least half my travel costs, that would help me so much.

This is an amazing opportunity and I really am grateful for it. Everyone should feel like this when they think of and go to work.

Go for it! Try your hardest, learn and think very carefully. Don't lose hope because I didn't get through to what I wanted but they let me in on a business assessment centre and I still got a technical role which I applied for.
