  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Spectating others doing electrical jobs and then carrying the jobs out my self as I’ve learned what to do and then given feedback My overview of my role is electrical maintenance by installing lights equipment testing and monthly checks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learned how to convert a standard light fitting into an led fitting I was first show how to do it then carried it out myself and achieved it I learnt how to test a circuit to see if it’s dead or live and also pat testing the process of doing it.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot I’ve felt that I’ve learnt a lot during the time I have done in the apprenticeship by learning new skills communicating with people my knowledge of electrical installation has improved massively and it’s made me more confident in carrying out jobs my self

  • I think it’s very well organised there are set tasks during the year of us developing our skills and learning on the go

  • I receive a lot of support by my coworkers as they have teaches me a lot of things to do with electrics such as testing etc

  • I receive a lot of support as they are willing to provide everything I need to get qualified

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Because you learn the theory side and practical side of things during the qualification and then I apply that to my job and it makes me become more intelligent

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There isn’t as such because of Covid

  • Yes

  • Because they are very supportive and helpful and there a positive company to work for


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Equans?
  • Just be your self be confident and show them your skills
