  • Supporting the electrical engineering team in delivering projects. Often shadowing colleagues in order to learn skills including computer assisted design and system design considerations.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • With no experience in the building services design industry and little experience using AutoCAD, I have still found learning new software and skills relevant to the industry to be comfortable. I feel I have made great advances in new skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my apprenticeship. I like my team, I find day to day work interesting and I feel I get the praise and recognition that is deserved. My experienced has surpassed my expectations.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Troup Bywater's part of the programme is very well structured and support available is made clear. There are sometimes problems with organisation on London Southbank Universities part, but these don't often become much of a problem, just short term confusion. I have many colleagues who are available to help me as they have completed the same course.

  • The support offered is more than enough.

  • Support is available to help me with my university studies.

  • My studies at university are important for me to understand the industry so therefore I feel they greatly increase my performance in my job role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are often many events that include guests and ones also that are Troup Bywater's employee only which help develop interpersonal relationships with colleagues. I have found these to be very useful. There are also a few sports teams who play friendly games.

  • Yes

  • Their commitment to developing the individual is great for them and great for you. Their apprenticeships in particular are a great way to kickstart your career with a respected member of the industry.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Troup Bywaters + Anders?
  • Its important to have good social skills. Relevant experience is helpful. Present and conduct yourself professionally.
