  • I am the Credit Control Manager, I am responsible for the collection of overdue invoices to 10 companies within the Acorn Group. These are UK based companies and companies based worldwide I have 4 team members who report directly to me, I oversee their work, handle queries they raise and also manage their personal development. On a daily basis I liaise with all department managers with the processing of new orders and dealing with any queries and issues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have found this apprenticeship extremely worthwhile and I have learnt numerous new skills especially during the managing people and leading people modules. It has been good to learn more about the motivation of team members and how to interpret their reactions and to deal with conflicts. The course also covered topics such as Operational Management and Projects which I would not necessarily be involved in, understanding how decisions are made with these modules has given me a greater understanding and appreciation for the decisions being made.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • This is a new course for the organsation I work for, I have asked to attend courses previously so this is something I have wanted to do for awhile. It is a fantastic course to do and the tutor is great. He knows his stuff and finds ways to show the entire class dependant of their level of understanding or knowledge. He makes it informative and presents in a relaxed way that allows you to express your feelings and knowledge without worry

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised by Interserve. The problems have been caused by our office not having the required IT equipment available. With the Covid 19 issues Interserve have gone above and beyond to ensure the course continued to run and the tutor has provided more support that needed and taken extra time in presenting topics and providing feedback. He is always there if I have any questions and provides fantastic support to me
