  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves me completing payrolls, bookkeeping, logging onto HMRC for certain checks. Depending on the time of the year, I could be entering details onto software in order to submit a VAT Return, preparing accounts, personal tax returns. At the moment during this pandemic I have been keeping up to date with Furlough claims and submitting them on HMRC. I have been checking any changes that are being made so that I can comply with the rules and regulations.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is quite organised and has been very well structured. Each week we are given a brief and an agenda in which to follow. This enables us to follow a guideline and achieve tasks by a deadline. The structure is very well followed and this gives a sense of achieving once learning the different subjects. Each week the subjects would be split into different sections and broke down so that they can be taught in detail.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are social activities at work. We are in partnership with another accountancy firm and together we team up for social activities via the social committee. We have organised Christmas dinners and parties, taken part in bowling, escape rooms and virtual video gaming. This enables us to get to know each other better outside of work and also improves our team work skills. Social activities are very enjoyable and it's nice to spend time together with your colleagues in a different environment.
