  • Shadowing to help understand processes and system within my company and team, whilst learning new tools and methods of analysing data or presenting. Study days are also granted each week to focus on theory work and assignments.

  • General IT work and applications are highly used developing my IT skills, as well as learning to be independent and reliable within the working environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Highly enjoy my programme, supportive team members and tutors, all displaying positive and welcoming attitudes towards me.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Highly organised, set hours each week for study, different people for different roles/ queries, online booking system for meetings so everyone is timetabled clearly and always made clear what time member to contact if the initial colleague is not available.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Great amount of support from team members, line managers, other apprentices, tutors, talent coaches and even apprenticeship buddies.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Have multiple tutors, a talent coach who I have a meeting with every six weeks, large amount of online resources, development days and lessons to help cover topics within assignments.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My theory side enables me to learn more about the industry I work in, especially surrounding policies and regulatory standards.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Team bonding sessions, filming for social media campaigns and other sessions are encourage. However remote working has slightly delayed these type of activities but a mass amount of effort is still put in by Barclays to stay connected.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A brilliant programme which offers a secure qualification whilst encouraging apprentices to strive for success through on job training to help gain experience. A good well respected company which is highly diverse and believe in equality, making everyone feel welcomed.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • The city life work environment can be over powering at first, especially if you are applying as a younger apprentice, but just remember that staying in comfort zones will only allow you to go so far, push yourself and take advantage of all the support around you, everyone wants you to do well.
