  • My role as a toolmaker consists of metal machining and producing tools for production, and also maintenance and repairs of equipment

  • Had a great time over the 3 years I was at college, help was always provided and work was challenging enough to create a learning curve and to overcome problems I encounter

  • The structure was very well explained and forward and seems to flow quite well over the course of the 2 years

  • A great amount of support from my supervisor and my mentors, they made it a lot easier to progress

  • Been great was always there to help if I needed it and explained things well

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Having the qualification does help with my performance as I have learnt the most of what I need to know so there’s only things that are exclusive to my place of work that I have to ask, like the way that they produce parts and there steps towards it

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I haven’t had the time to expand and do those activities but there are certainly there I was just focused on my qualification

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s a lot of team work involved and they always provide help and they never expect you to work out of your means and they are well aware of your ability and will sometimes challenge that and allow you to take your own time and are very supportive if it doesn’t go well,


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Eminox?
  • Be prepared to work as a team and to borrow skills from other workers to improve your own skills
