  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Category Assistant for Men's and Boot's own Brand and Exclusive toiletries. As an assistant I work on Sales Plan (offers that you see in store), maintain product information and meet with suppliers. As my job role covers a wide variety of products I get to work with the Brand team as well as the trading teams. On top of my day to day job role I get involved in exciting projects - for example new launches.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • There are deadlines you need to meet within Trading and therefore, you need to be organised. There are plenty of internal courses I am booked on which really help with the systems. On top of the training everyone is more than happy to help. I am currently doing a Customer Service qualification with College (which is on the Boot's site).

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Boots?
  • My Manager is really helpful in giving me an insight of what is expected of me and what I can expect in return. I have weekly meetings which helps to keep a check on my development. I feel more than comfortable to ask questions as and when they arise, from which I am given time and help with.
