  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I manage the administration and marketing for our garage programme, this involves looking after the main website, uploading garage details, news articles and reviews, managing the social media channels to ensure content is fresh informative and relevant to the audience. I also ensure that the programme keeps within it's budget, organise events, manage stock and help devise marketing campaigns for the garages to utilise. I also provide admin support to the sales managers and answer the enquiry line to garages.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a number of new skills during the apprenticeship, I am now able to put together a individual learning plan for the team rather than using a one size fits all approach, I'm more aware of emotional intelligence and that how I behave in the workplace can affect the people around me. I also communicate more and am more open with the team about why we need to make changes and the benefits to the team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed learning about new things as well as learning new ways to approach situations. It was also nice to be doing the programme alongside colleagues from different departments as it gave me a better understanding of how everyone works together to achieve the same goal. There was a lot of background reading to do and sometimes I found it difficult to make the time to work on the course, especially when working to trying to keep on top of your day to day work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The number of hours that you need to work on the course sometimes was unrealistic. The mix of tutor visits and classroom learning was sufficient and the support given for the end point assessment was invaluable.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager was very supportive during the programme, allowing me the time to work on the course and helping with any forms to complete, reviews and appraisals that I needed for the support evidence.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support from the training provider was good with just the right mix of classroom sessions and tutor visits. Emails were always responded to promptly and additional support was there is you needed it. My only concern the staff retention as I had 3 tutors during the programme.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No

  • Yes
