  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • i work in commercial support meaning i take the admin from relationship managers to serve commercial business customers daily, doing tasks such as account opening, data amendments, payments, standing orders and answering acc queries.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have learnt better communication as i work with a range of colleagues and serve a variety of customers. i have learnt better time management as there are certain deadlines with the range of tasks i complete and some of these need completed in a certain time frame

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • well it took a while before my programme actually got started and we started to meet with our trainer which has been going well so far we are getting through the work quickly. the information we are going through i have been covering off within my role as i have worked in my team since july 2019 so there hasnt been anything nice so far which gives confidence in my answers

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • mine was late to get starting as we originally went over to edinburgh in oct for the introduction and we had a phone call with our organisers who told us we would meet them face to face before christmas and then was told it would be january but it wasnt actually until my line manager chases then in April to ask when we would be getting started. It also took a very long time for me to get my learning through after registering for my personal bankers i had to get that chased up as well

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we have been given allocated time to complete our studies and have been told whatever we need to come to my line manager or my trainer.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • my trainer has given us plenty of help and support when it comes to completing our modules offering great answers or ideas when it comes to supplying portfolio evidence

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • at the minute we are doing the financial services modules which has been information i have covered with experience in my role but soon we will be completing the customer service modules which will be hoping very informative and will guide me on how to better treat my customers

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes with ulster bank there are are occasionally talk and meetings held with guest speakers as well as events such as the sports and social club put on like they had a comedy club zoom evening arranged during lockdown.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • yes i would if that was the line of work they wanted to go but there isnt much career development if they wanted to branch out to another area


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • do your research, look into the business as a whole its values and make sure the role is something you want to do
