  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Depending on business attachment; new manufacture NDT, in service NDT, review of technical documents, write up of technical documents, auditing of NDT supplychain

    8/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am developing all my soft skills (really believe that). I have learned all about NDT within RR and in general Aerospace. I have improved my technical writing ability, my presentation skills and my academic skills through uni.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I don't enjoy the moving phase, when it comes to moving attachments once you get used to one place (and the people). However, this is also to benefit me. Apart from that, I enjoy everything.

    9/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured. It has had some hiccups with organisation, but nothing major considering the scale of what is being asked. A lot of organisation is given to us to sort which is empowering.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot, if and whenever I need it. Academic support, work based support, personal support. All health benefits are extended to us as we count as normal employees (including employee assistance line and more).

    7/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Enough to get through the training, not enough to do it stress free. However, this is subjective. I feel the support I receive is adequate, and especially if it gets to points where I really struggle, I can get tutoring help (sometimes applicable), extra time at work and more.

    7/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that this helps me very much. Both the degree, and the EN4179 qualifications help me tremendously be the best NDT engineer I can be.

    8/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Social clubs (AGA), sport clubs and more per attachment.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • For all reasons above.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
  • Be honest, work hard and don't give up.
