Communicating between drivers, ensuring petrol sites, industrial and marine sites get the fuel delivered. The majority of interaction is with the drivers from the terminals of the desk you are allocated. Controllers are responsible to amend deliveries where necessary, make sure the deliveries have taken place and deal with any issues that may arise during a shift.
Learnt new software and processes when dealing with the daily tasks. Within my company there are training courses on types of fuels, customer service, training in emergencies and chances to go and experience what it is like working in the field. .
I enjoy the programme as it allows me to work on the course at my own pace and time, with work being demanding and have little to no free time the layout it perfect.
The structure of the programme has been set out clearly and has been made easier on me with clear instructions on what the course entails and the end goal. After each meeting i am clear in what my next steps i have to take to go further in the course.
I receive plenty of support from my employers, any issues i have i can go to them with ease. They have offered time away from the desk to allow time to complete my programme and progress with when needed.
My tutor is extremely supportive and helpful with any queries i have. When contacting my tutor through email they will reply within a matter of minutes showing there willingness to support me through this programme.
I feel that i am more understaning of what it takes to be a better employee through communication when speaking to customers or the drivers. I feel as though i know more about the industry i work in.
Not that i am aware of. As we work in 4 different teams we do things outside of work as a team but rarely with the other teams, this may be because we work shifts patterns.
