  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a daily basis I deal with all the vehicle paperwork of cars that we have sold/ordered/delivered. This requires me to invoice the vehicle to our customer and set up any policies they wish to take out. I also tax, tag and order new vehicles to fit customer requirements. Each month I check over our Demo vehicles to ensure they are all taxed and insured as well a taking sold vehicles off of our funding programme. Along with the above I answer external phone calls and divert them to the correct department. I contact customers if we have information from their deal missing and I also contact our other branches if I ever need advice about a policy or having issues on our stock systems.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Whilst working with Pentagon I have gained many skills, one of them being my Level 2 in business administration. I came straight from school so everything I know is due to learning at Pentagon & Learning Skills Partnership. I understand the importance of speaking in a formal and informal tone when the time is right, you're representing the company over the phone/in the showroom therefore you have to be a professional example of what the business is about.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the team I work with and we all encourage each other to work hard and learn new skills. I am enjoying my Level 3 as i'm learning new knowledge that i didn't know before, Learning Skills Partnership have really helped me grow in confidence and grow as a person as well. Pentagon reach my expectations in many ways, they are a strong growing business who take care of their staff and it shows as there is a very low staff turn round.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • When I first started at Pentagon back in 2017 I had a great support team but currently my role could be more structured/organised as I only have the support from my E-Assessor due to my Line manager leaving the company last year and having no replacement. It is mentally challenging to study for my Level 3 along side a full time job and no support at work. I try and organise my days by level of importance of the work that needs to be done but that cannot always be following due to interruptions.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I currently feel as though I do not get the support that an employer is supposed to provide. When I've spoke to certain managers about my struggles I get (well you've managed to cope before) I do feel like more support needs to be provided to staff especially those who are in the role by themselves and don't have someone to lean on when the job load becomes too much. I think instead of focusing on cutting costs they should be thinking about the support they give their staff.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have always received a massive amount of support from both of my E-Assessors [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and they've always been patient in the way I learn and the things i have to do in my role neither have ever minded me breaking off from my training to help a colleague or salesman with a task. If I ever have a question I know that at least one will answer the phone to help

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification helps me in my day to day job by teaching me more in depth knowledge about my role. I now know the company policies in detail which i didn't know before. I do feel like i know and understand more about the company I work for and I can now apply my knowledge and skills to my daily tasks. Knowing more information about what I do also helps me provide customers with the correct information

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is nothing to get involved in with work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend MOTUS Commercials to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Overall Motus Commercials Ltd is not a bad company to work for. They have helped me to achieve my level 2 business admin qualification and soon my level 3 business admin qualification. Without them supporting my qualification I wouldn't have come as far as I have today or achieve the things I have. Motus have helped me understand the ins and outs of running a good company that I will forever keep with me.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MOTUS Commercials?
  • Just be yourself.
