  • On a day-to-day basis I usually assist the site manager, however I would prefer if I had more site experience. I feel like I have very little experience in civil engineering and I am being held back from what I could achieve.

  • I have developed basic skills from on site experience but as I approach my second year I feel like I would be expected to do more.

  • I enjoy the learning side of my programme. The job is ok however more site experience would make it better.

  • I think the program is structed well with the training provider, however not with the company.

  • I don't have much contact with my line manager and I feel as if, I would enjoy the program more if I got support.

  • I feel as if they play a good role in my learning I cannot fault them for anything.

  • I take some information from my learning through to working onsite.

  • No


  • 9b. Why?
  • If the apprenticeship scheme was more structured, I would. As an apprentice I feel as if there is no plan for my development.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JN Bentley?
  • If you're able to, get an engineer as your mentor instead of a site manager.
