  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Basically we started off going to derby everyday doing college at the LDC and we would complete our NVQ in the workshop which had many machines for us to gain experience on. This varied from hand tools to CNC milling machines.

  • I enjoy being in the business. I enjoy the fact that there's plenty of very knowledgeable people and they are great to have a laugh with.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure to the apprenticeship could be improved massively. For the second year of my apprenticeship, we are supposed to have gotten nvq assessors in which I and a few others havent been assigned one. Within the apprenticeship alot of things change during your time for example you could be told there's a meeting and when you get there you find out it's been cancelled.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I could not fault rolls royce when it comes to support. I got a free diagnosis for a learning disability which I've heard costs rolls royce around £400. I was given more support with rolls royce than I was given at school!

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

  • 9a. Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?
