  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I support out residents on a day to day basis with personal care where they have shower or wash and helping with putting clothes on. We also help them with feeding during breakfast, lunch and dinner. We normally have activities during the day, going to the garden for a walk, sing along, puzzles or some of them play on the vista table. We also have hairdresser that comes to do the residents hair on a regular basis.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of new skills and also developed new ones. I have learnt the different levels of food preparation with the new training that was provided for us by the company, and how we have to check their food before serving like checking the label, checking if it is the right level. I have also developed some existing skills like using hoist, stand aids, actively listening to residents and doing activities with them.
