  • Completing background checks on clients and prospects, making payments and trades, opening/closing accounts and completing updates on clients accounts ranging from updating directors to updating an address.

  • Team work, problem solving, working under pressure, meeting/exceeding deadlines, confidence and communication skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Thought it was enjoyable, everyone was very welcoming and the teams were very supportive including the apprentice team from the offset. The programme gave me a great insight in to an industry that I am interested in and am looking forward to the further opportunities that UBS has to offer.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As mentioned above, the apprentice team were very supportive from the first day, Fitch Learning were also great when it came to providing support/guidance on the apprenticeship and there was a clear plan throughout the programme which put my mind at ease.

  • Very supportive throughout the entire programme and were very open when I had any problems/issues. They were very kind and very approachable.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received a lot of support throughout the apprenticeship. They were very quick to respond to questions I had in relation to the exams.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It provides a basic knowledge of the financial services but still provides a good in-depth understanding of what we offer to our clients. For this role, the level of learning is ideal.

  • Yes, they have societies and networks which we can get involved with.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The general ethos of the company is fantastic. Everyone is very welcoming and supportive throughout the programme and even after.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • Ask plenty of questions, no matter if they seem ridiculous (never a stupid question). Be open and honest with your colleagues if you are facing any issues or problems as they may have the solution to help you. Grasp every opportunity that they provide you with as it will only benefit you in the long run.
