  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a data analyst involves providing back office support to two different departments. My roles include providing insights and reporting (a good example would be insights on performance), completing forecasts for the departments and also to act as a centre of excellence to answer any questions, among many others.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt plenty of new skills as a young apprentice. These range from the advanced use of excel or providing high level business documents to my communication and presentation skills. I have learnt to be more independant and also developed my knowledge of business and banking which was only basic at the start.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • 10/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is really well structured and enables us to get the best balance possible. By giving us time out of the office to work on university work and assignments, there never seems to be much stress among the cohort. It continues for 4 years and gives us the perfect oppurtunity to develop our knowledge and skills.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • My experience with Barclays has been amazing to say the least. They're a really good employer and provide the most support possible. The oppurtunites within Barclays are endless and I have been able to develop and mature and learn so many new skills in the space of a year.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • I would advise that you show your enthusiasm, passion and willingness to learn and also showcase your existing skills as best as possible. Be confident when applying and through the assessment day. Advice for if you get the job would be to make the most of the oppurtunities through Barclays and watch yourself shine.
