  • I am responsible for planning and implementing the right projects to ensure we deliver our strategic goals. This includes: • Responsibility for the strategic planning for digital transformation • Organisational learning and knowledge management • Digital cultural shift • IT/IS -business alignment • Digital experiencing support • Account management for WBL customers

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My degree apprenticeship taught me some useful skills around costs and digital leadership which I'm using in new projects in our organisation.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Very much. I have very strong support both from the university and Pearson's internal apprenticeship team. To be honest, having the right support is one of the factors that keeps me motivated to finish this course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It's very good. From the beginning of each module, I know exactly what to expect in terms of training content and assessment. However, it would be good to have some downtime around Christmas as we are normally working on assignments for early January.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Full support as far as I'm concerned. I'm able to take my 20% time off to focus on my studies and I have a number of opportunities where I can apply my knowledge in the workplace.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Full support during and outside study time. The staff in my course are fully engaged with all the learners and I have no complaints about that.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Very well. I have a job that is closely aligned to my apprenticeship and I have now been offered a short term secondment as Head of Engagement and Innovation. I feel that this apprenticeship is opening many professional doors for me.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, network events in my field (digital transformation) which I take part regularly. I also get lots of invites for other events via my Linkedin which I try to attend time permitting.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Pearson is a diverse company that offers great support to their staff and excellent development and career opportunities. I have been there for almost 20 years and I have nothing but respect to Pearson for what they have done to me since I started working there.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson plc?
  • If you understand Pearson's culture you'll go far in your career there.
