  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Looking to offer help if needed for customers who are vulnerable during power cuts. Also Admin jobs to maintain the customers on the register ensuring data is up to date and accurate

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned to be more positive and aware of how people may work. I have learned to tackle things head on rather than avoid it and that I am probably more capable than I realise

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the social aspect and learning new things. I also learn from others from different business which makes me more open minded to listen to others and their ideas

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised although occasionally communication hasn't been as good as it could have been. But this hasn't changed the course or how we learn. The uni are very adaptable and approachable should there be any problems

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • my employer are extremely supportive. We have been given the time and trust to do what we need to do. Been assured that if we need help then higher management are happy to help and if we need books etc to ask for them.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Everything is laid out clear for us to carry out what we need to. They are very approachable if there is anything we need to discuss with them, personal or related to the qualification

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • so far not too much as my role doesn't require me to do much more however once I have further into the course I may feel more confident to push myself more. I am becoming more aware of my workplace and why things are the way they are

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Not that I am aware of although most people get on and are welcomed to join in in other peoples plans if they have similar interests. Walking or cinema trips etc but it is more informal than formal.

  • 9a. Would you recommend SSP Group to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel looked after and considered as a member of the team. I have worked here for many years and feel I could speak to anyone if I had an issue. The benefits and pay are fair also.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to SSP Group?
  • To take it on board and put your head down and you will be recognized for your efforts. Abide by rules and look out for other members of staff. Speak to higher management about progression
