  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Day to day i look after employee data and i monitor and regular employee absence, everyday is different i answer pay roll query's and provide support and guidance to the supply chain supporting its people. I look after employee engagment well being for the site and support in engagment initiatives.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned team work , managing stakeholders, emotional intelligence , written communication improvement. Almost all skills i have ever learned were developed in my role it was so easy coming from college to think i could work in a team and or manage stakeholders but to actually apply these skills in different scenarios excepically difficult ones that a whole new skill

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my program as i love what it offer me , i get flexibility to manage my work and a space to provide and receive feedback. My manager truly great a developing me in my role. i love supporting people and helping people. and i love the element of problem solving in my role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Really well, its complicated at first but is structure in a way that makes it easy i have 4 years with my team develop my learning in a role and then i also i have my degree which has its own structure so it easier for me to treat them separately and but cross over the learnings. I have regular 121's with my line manager and the open university are a great training provider very clear on what i need to do.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My Employee provide me with regular 121 and feedback they also support me by providing 20% off the job to complete my university work which is really essential because were actually required to provide double the 20% in terms of uni work. My employers are great at developing me

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a lot of support form my practise tutor we have face to face meet up every 6 weeks there always there through the whole 4 years and really are at the end of the phone or email when i need my theory tutors i never meet its all online however they are great at replying back to emails and calls to answer query's

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It does because half of my course is practical based and i complete reports on my learning and my review on applying them, the theory no so much i cover such a wide variety of business but i work in HR which is a specialised area for business but it has been great to understand how other functions work with mine like finance

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am the apprentice out reach lead for my location i love this role i go out to schools and send apprentices to event promoting apprenticeships and spreading opportunity for young people which i feel really passionate about

  • 9a. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Overall my journey at unilever has been a super fun rollercoaster because your constantly learning about new things and yourself and i guess id refer it to a roller-coaster because your always developing. I have loved the experience and really believe they have offered me such a great foundation for my future


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Be prepared to feel overwhelmed in the beginning particularly if you haven't had a job before because it such a new environment but in return you truly with learn and grow and have such a great network when you finish and a start to your career that will take you forward. Be prepared to work hard too.
