  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Answering calls to existing and potential trainers needing help and advice, managing compliance of new trainers recruited into the business, handing them over to start work, creating and sending certificates to clients and reviewing reports completed by trainers. Answering email queries with SLA's, booking courses and updating systems with information, .

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Attended Excel training to improve my skills in this area, learning new tips and trick to increase efficiency as I use Excel a lot in my day to day role, improved communication skills from talking to a wider range of people in different roles and levels of importance, developed presentation skills through apprenticeship workshops.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • DriveTech has a good company culture, that is supported by all employees and I work within a good team that help and support eachother. The apprenticeship as a whole has been a great experience and I have learnt a lot from completing it and have enjoyed the process of it.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is well structured, I choose which days I take my study time on and every 6 weeks have video calls with my skills coach which supports me with my work and answers any questions that I have. The workshops have been well organised and improved my knowledge and skills.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager supports me with my apprenticeship work and allows me the time I need to complete it. If I have any problems or need advice I would ask my skills coach. Over the apprenticeship I feel I have been well supported and have been provided with the support I needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My skills coach is always there if I need her, I can email her whenever asking for advice and we have review meetings every 6 weeks to check in and review the work I have completed and set targets to complete between then and the next time. I have enjoyed working towards gaining my qualification

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • What I have learnt on my apprenticeship from the coursework I've completed and during my workshops, I've been able to apply to my work and understand the running's of the business and how my work contributes and the effect it has. Overall, I feel I know more about my role and industry from completing the qualification.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At work there are quarterly briefings which I attend that cover the successes of the business and improvements being put in place also any changes that have been made. There are also social events set up that employees can attend. Also fundraising events when colleagues are completing events for charity etc.

  • 9a. Would you recommend DriveTech to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great company to work for, working for a good cause - to make our roads a safer place to reduce death. I fully support this and as a result of working here have become a safer driver myself. I am fully supported and there is a positive culture and team effort.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DriveTech?
  • Be yourself in the interview and relate previous employment and experiences in the questions asked, giving examples along the way. Also be confident in your answers and know what your talking about including searching up the company and what they do beforehand. There are a lot of experiences and opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills along the way.
