  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role is to help customers with any queries or changes they need to make to their insurance policy, this needs to be done whilst providing excellent and fast service. my role is to make the customers exeperience as easy as possible and avoid any confusion ny onforming them on all a changes made

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • since starting the apprenticeship i have have developed loads of different skills. i feel like since joining my confidence in and outside of work has improved drastically. i also feel like i have learnt to take iniative in situations now instead of always relying on others. i also feel like i have matured quite alot these last few months aswell.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i enjoy the programme quite alot for many different reasons. one thing about the programme i enjoy is how we are given time to learn about the course we are doing aswell as learn on the job. i also enjoy working in leeds and the people i work with. my place of waork is a very enjoyable and friendly environmen also

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • my programme is very well organised as through the week we get three and a half hours to study the course then at the end of the month we willhave a meeting with our trainer where we can discuss how far in the book weve got and if we are struggling in certain areas

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we receive alot of support from our employer as they always check up on us regarding our course. also with the job role we receive lots of coaching in areas of the job that we struggle in or find hard and this makes the job alot easier and more enjoyable

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • our trainer from babington provides loads of support as we can just simply email her if we are struggling in any areas of the book or we can bring it up in our end of month review. this makes it easier to progress in knowledge regarding the book and course

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • the qualification is useful as it helps me with my role due to all the information that links in. this helps me have more knowledhe on my role and means i can provide a better service to our customers. it is also vice versa as my role helps me with my qualification

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • we do have a platform called yammer where we can exchange best practice which is where everyone shares information on situations they have experienced with customers so if you have that same experince you would know what to do. this again helps make the role a bit easier and helps provide a better service

  • Yes

  • i would definitely recommend directv line as it is a big company with lots of oppurtunities to progress in your career. also it is a really fun,friendly and enjoyable place to work and all the employees are really helpful and fun to work with, also you can get a qualification while gaining work experince


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Direct Line?
  • all i would say is make sure you work hard and concentrate as eventhough the job is enjoyable, it isnt easy, i would definitely make sure you listen to your colleagues and team leaders and it will make the job alot easier and more enjoyable if you have all the information you need
