  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role in the business consists of customer service for the customers. I come to work and I help customers to amend their existing motor insurance policy, I do this by changing there vehicles, address etc. My job role also consists of selling breakdown cover to the customers which I did not have any selling skills what so ever before I started with Direct Line.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot because it have enabled me to meet new people, learn what its like to work in a call centre as I have never done work like this it has always been face to face interaction with the customer that I had. I also enjoy the programme as it has really helped me to build on my confidence in talking to other people and also learn new things with I love to do.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is structured good sometimes in some ways but not in the other, this is due to us being able to get the 3 and a half hours a week to do our study time and also do mocks and course work but in other ways they are really poor due to me and all the other apprentices finding out we were doing level 2 6 months into the course when we were told from the beginning that it was a level 3 course.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get really good support from my team leader as she is also making sure that we have done the apprenticeship work for our trainer and also making sure that we are okay with the work we are doing and always happy. My employer allows we three and a half hours off the job study time which is enough to allow me to get on with my work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received a lot of support from my trainer included her helping me though the insurance policy learning book, she also answers any questions that I have about the programme. The only thing is that we got told later in the course that it was a level 2 qualification rather than a level 3 which is what we believed it to be.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do feel as though my qualification will help with my job role as the programme that i'm doing is about insurance policy learning so this has been able to help me ask questions that the customer has about there insurance or even claims due the book being about all insurance including claims. It has also helped me to understand the terminology.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • At my work place they do a lot of activities for the colleagues to get involved with such as gathering for charity, they also do things around the work place for holidays such as Christmas, Halloween etc. We also do things within our teams in the work place for example go out for food or go bowling. We all keep very connecting during work and after work aswell.
