  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • handler customer queries answer phone calls dealing with complaints handling PH TP TPI and others working towards apprentiship working claims getting claims to where they need to be - learning new skills and taking on new opportunities such as managing hires, aged debt ect helping others with their tasks when needed

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have learnt skills with the insurance sector how insuranse works ect ive delevpoed loads of skills such team work using own intitative problem solving confidence - i think its really got me out of my comfort zone helped me expand skills i already have and also develop new ones

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • to be honest its been go in the sense i have develpoed skills and its got me out of my comfort zone however the programme itself wasnt that good im not sure if its due to the training provider but it was very poorly delivered constant changed of trainers ect

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • not very well organised again direct line themselves did a good job at training ect but the training provider babington was shocking they tutors didnt even know what they were doing themselves half the time and were no help at all all my learning was done by myself shocking if u ask me

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • employer suppported me all the way - gave me reading time each week making sure i always got that and they helped when we didnt know something kept asking trainers to come in and help us with work and would always remind us when things were due ect big help from them

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • none at all - they didnt help and took forever to mark things - i passed everything soley down to myself for the exam they just made us read a book and when they came in they just read over the same chapters again so pointless and for our course work they took forever to mark it and still didnt do it right

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • okay i dont think i learnt much through it tbh msot of what you learn is through being on the floor actually doing your job i do believe they could of not had me train through babington and id be in the same position i am today a good claim handler

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yeah always got into the social activities whether is be team night out bowling having fun or going out for birthday drinks for people really good social life at direct line also got invovled in culture club within work creating those social events for the handlers of the floor

  • 9a. Would you recommend Direct Line to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • decent pay good social life made some good friends - alright working enviroment much more child than any job ive had before - learn alot from it such as skills and stuff like that as previously discussed


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Direct Line?
  • just be yourself at the interview and do prepare they are just kind of wanting to see who you are as a person and how you handler problems - defo give it a go as it was a good thing to get into and looks good on the cv
