  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I will normally be assisting my team, whether that may be calling the Court, Claimant's solicitors and also filing any court documents. I now take on my own workload, therefore have my own files to manage

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been able to develop many skills, for example working with a team and being able to communicate. I have learnt the art of professionalism, as I'm continually in a working environment, ensuring I maintain my level of professionalism throughout taking my tasks and talking to clients etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • With the online course that I'm currently studying, BPP are very organised in the sense they have thought out lessons, with reading materials available. However with my course there are no online lessons/ chat rooms, which makes it slightly more difficult if you have no knowledge on the law sector.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The level of support from DWF Law is outstanding. We have an apprenticeship specialist who will conduct a termly review meeting, therefore if we have any problems we may want to discuss we can bring this up then. However [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is always available to email. Suppervisors are always extremely supportive, and are willing to help you develop skills to become a paralegal.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As previously mentioned with the course I was enrolled in, we don't get online lessons/ live seminars. Therefore it's difficult to get the support you need within lessons. However the course leaders conduct a termly review meeting, to discuss your progress and enable you to raise any concerns.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The subjects that we study with our training provider is extremely useful, as they help you have a better understanding on how the law sector works. Without the materials I wouldn't have been able to perform and have a clear understanding.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are always extra curricular activities going on each week. We have a social team that help organise the activities and they are countless. We have sporting teams ranging from Netball, football, rounders which we will compete against other local law firms. We also have networking events, one of them is Fridge Friday meaning we go to a local bar and network with employees in the office.

  • 9a. Would you recommend DWF Law LLP to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have recommended DWF Law LLP to many of my friends previously. I believe they have a good working environment, as they engage their employees and reward them regularly. It has such a modern feel that I don't believe many law firms would have. The endless support from supervisors and fellow employees are faultless

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to DWF Law LLP?
  • The level of talent at DWF is superb, my advise to you would that you show that you are willing. That your willing to learn about the law sector and strive to succeed. Having confidence is key also, with applying to an international law firm like DWF it may seem daunting. So make sure you go into the interview full of confidence as you have to sell yourself to ensure you get the role. Also my main bit of advice is be yourself, show off your personality and let the employers get a real insight on how amazing you are.
