  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I respond to complaints/escalations on behalf of the Group CEO and Board of Directors.

    10/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes - The option of the degree has broadened my knowledge/understanding of my business and allowed me to think differently.

    8/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The CMDA programme, I don't. The way the university manages itself and treats students is particularly poor.

    1/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Half and half. The structure is very rigid and has no flexibility.

    1/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Fantastic support. Given the time to study and supported along the way. The point of contact within Barclays in the Early Careers Team is dreadful, isn't up to date and shifts any blame or task back to the university.

    5/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Next to none.

    2/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It promotes you to think differently, but doesn't integrate into the role due to how the learning is presented. I understand my business better but that's because the assignments have required me to understand my business better.

    5/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes - Due to being in London in such a large office there's loads of opportunities but due to the high expectations from our Exec Office, doing this during a working day is difficult.

    6/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I'm well looked after, the perks are fantastic and in general it's a good place to work. However, working in head office is a different environment to a branch.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
  • Let your personality shine through and any skills from other jobs/hobbies will be of benefit to the business.
