  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within the smart metering and customer service team in a lead role within a transformation team, creating innovative ways to maximize smart installations and improve customer service and quality.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I would say I have been made aware of skills I already had, I wouldn't say I have learnt many new skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the workshops the most, interacting with other colleagues from other areas that I would never normally meet.

    7/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I wouldn't say it is organized very well at all. Very poor planning and explanation of timescales and what needs doing when. The website is very hard to follow, changes were made to the evidence portfolio mid way through the course which meant any uploads done were pointless. One to one sessions were often done last minute, it was very hard to understand what work to do, and then towards the end of the course a lot of changes had to be made as the development coaches had never put anyone through the course before so they didn't know what the examiners expected from us either!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • not much but I was allowed the time to work on it as I planned this myself.

    3/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I was happy with my training provider and they did support but I felt they needed to make expectations clearer before we started completing modules as these had to be amended towards the end of the course!

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel it does help as it has given me a refresher into being a team leader, straight after this course I got a new job as a leader so it was relevant to my personal development. I feel it is more of a highlight on my CV so it will be useful to 'say' I have done the course and qualified.

    7/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are many social events and all advertised on our local connect page for us to get involved. Work often hold competitions and charity events too.

    7/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend E.ON to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Good company to work for with good job protection and pension scheme, good holidays and availability for flexible benefits. Great people to work with.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to E.ON?
  • If you work hard and commit to personal development you should work your way up the ranks, but this can take time. Lots of opportunities is different business areas so good to build up a range of skills.
