  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed my time at Pfizer and would really recommend it. My team have been supportive with not only the work side of the apprenticeship but also with the university and studying side. I have found this really encouraging and it has made me really passionate about HR.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme has been well organised from the start. I wouldn't say there is a structure and plan as to what I was going to learn but I learn new things everyday and find that whatever I do learn is valuable to work and my studies.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have a huge amount of support from my employer. I have a weekly meeting with my manager to discuss my work projects I am involved in as well as talking about how my studies are going. I have found it useful to talk about my studies as I have sometimes found it difficult to relate my studies to my role but talking it through has helped my understanding massively.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support I have received from my training provided has been good. I haven't once felt that I have not been supported by my training provider. The tutors will always get back to you and support you. The only downside was at the beginning of my apprenticeship I had a few tutors leave which left me without a tutor for a month or two. However, my current tutor is amazing and is really supportive on getting me to the end of my apprenticeship.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has given me a better understanding of HR as a whole. I think it was useful to learn about recruitment, even though this doesn't relate to my job role as it gives me an idea of how my work my impact them and so on. I am able to relate my qualification massively to my role and have found it very useful and informative.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is an onsite gym where you can attend classes with friends or you can also have a normal work out in the gym together. There are professional events that can also be attended. For example, this year we have had an offsite meeting with the whole of the HR team.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Pfizer to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have really enjoyed my time at Pfizer. The culture is lovely and I have felt supported by my colleagues every step of the way. I am really grateful for everything that I have learned on the job at Pfizer and will continue to use these skills throughout my HR career. As an apprentice, you are given responsibility. You are not treated like an apprentice, you are treated as though you are a normal colleague which I find really inspiring as it pushes us to work harder and learn more.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pfizer?
  • Just to be yourself. Pfizer really embraces it's varied culture and welcomes all different types of people to bring fresh new ideas that perhaps people of other generations may not have thought about or may not be open to. It is a huge company to work for but it is not as scary as you think. Everyone is so lovely and welcoming!
