My day to day role varies however usually I do a lot of diary management, case allocation, sorting out conference calls for my managers, helping out different teams with creating statistical reports, recently I have been asked to test out a video call software to give my opinion on it before it gets distributed more widely across the organisation. I also participate in many different meetings and make notes of them as well as coach others and help different teams across the organisation.
I have learned multiple new skills such as calendar management, patience and resilience, I have improved my IT skills, my writing skills but most importantly I gained much more confidence when speaking to a large number new people that I haven't met before.
I really enjoy working at Financial Ombudsman Service, especially because they offer so many different opportunities for young people. When I first joined I never thought I would be working alongside of such amazing people, I was able to learn so many new things and take part in very interesting projects.
I think that is something that different from one BA to another BA. Overall my programme that have been put in place is very structured and organised, everything has a expected dead line that I stick to however I think that each individual decides whether or not they will keep up with that structure,
My employer is very supportive. I have been assigned to the best manager I could think of who supports me, coaches me and gives me constructive feedback when necessary. My employer offers a lot of networks and sessions that help to develop different skills e.g. resilience or minute taking skills.
I receive a decent amount of support from my training provider. I have online webinars as well as face to face days. Whenever I have a question to my coach, they reply within 24 hours which is helpful. It is also very helpful that I have monthly reviews with my coach and my manager where we discuss what I have done well and where I can improve.
I have mixed feelings about that. I feel like I learn more from my colleagues at work etc rather than from my training provider simply because I feel that every BA is different and everyone's day to day task vary significantly therefore its hard to build a training scheme to help everyone .
Yes there is plenty extra activities that I can get involved in. My team already had 2 social external events that I arranged myself and also they offer a lot of other networking activities. I also get involved in extra projects to expand my network and get to know more people across the organisation.

It was my dream to work for the Financial Ombudsman Service and my dream came true. They went beyond my expectations in regards of how inclusive and welcoming everyone are. I have never been this proud to work for someone and I am so glad I happy that I can work for them. The atmosphere is incredible and everyone is so helpful.
Be positive - make sure you are actually passionate about our company because if you are truly passionate about our service, people will notice that and there will be plenty of opportunities for you. Relax during the interview - try not to stress and send out positive vibes. This helps so much when it comes to building a good connection with people. Do your research - there is nothing worst than coming to an interview unprepared.
