As a new Data Scientist, my role so far has consisted of various training and working with teams trying to find where my best fit is. The company so far has been great with allocating me projects and training.
Yes! through the support of the company and university i have been provided with training to help me progress with the programming languages i already know- and pushed me to learn languages such as R.
Although i can feel overwhelmed, i enjoy my program a lot- there is never a boring day as you're always pushed to network or learn something new.
The company side of my program is relatively organised, however- I cannot say the same for the University aspect, this course is a new one- so I'm forgiving for the lack of structure so far, they're still figuring it out.
I have had 100% support from my employers from day one, they are very accommodating and understanding- I couldn't ask for a better company to work for in that sense.
As mentioned in an earlier question, our training providers are still doing some trial and error with how they're teaching the course- but throughout this they have requested our feedback and made changes based on what we have said- they are also quite supportive on a personal level.
As i have not been in my role very long i cant give much of an answer on this as the first year with our training provider is just them outlining the course and building us up tot he work applicable content.
yes! there are many groups within Unilever, we have choirs, pilates etc- it is a very social place.
Yes
It is a very good company to work for, They are very supportive and not only that- but the company itself does so many good things globally.
Be yourself and have a goal- also make sure to read up on the company before applying- we do so many inspiring things.
