I am training to be a software engineer and this involves working on internal/external projects using a variety of software and coding languages. This could range from creating websites and databases to making an app and deploying websites on AWS cloud.
Yes i have learnt new coding languages and have developed soft skills such as presentation, team leading and corporate conduct. I have learnt 3 new languages and have used new software such as eclipse, outsystems and AWS.
Its really good as i don't have to pay for a degree and the people i work with are very supportive of the pathways i want to choose and my personal development.
It is well structured as each year at university we will be learning new modules and expanding our knowledge. It also allows us to choose 1 of 4 pathways which we feel most comfortable with.
My manager is really supportive of what i want to work on and the training i want to do. There is also monthly review meetings with my manager and skills coach where i can address my progress and any problems.
I have a skills coach that i can ask questions and she will point me in the right direction. Also any reasonable time i need off to work on coursework or if there is university support days I am able to attend.
The work i do in university does help as i have done a lot of web development bu i feel like it is a little simple for me as i know more, but the course is also suited for people that are beginners so i guess it's decent. However, the JAVA i haven't used at work yet but i feel like i will use it in the future sometime and will be good.
There is a gym on site which u can buy a membership for and i think a couple people do a running session every week but i'm not too sure.
Yes
Because it is a big company with many opportunities for you to move once graduated and has a lot of flexibility on the training courses you want to choose to improve your kills and better your knowledge. It has a lot of supporting and friendly employees working there but also pays well.
Be yourself as Fujitsu is quite diverse and any person is given the same amount of opportunity. Have a set goal to know what you want to become and what you want to achieve as it helps a lot when choosing projects etc.
