  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am training to be a software engineer and this involves working on internal/external projects using a variety of software and coding languages. This could range from creating websites and databases to making an app and deploying websites on AWS cloud.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes i have learnt new coding languages and have developed soft skills such as presentation, team leading and corporate conduct. I have learnt 3 new languages and have used new software such as eclipse, outsystems and AWS.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Its really good as i don't have to pay for a degree and the people i work with are very supportive of the pathways i want to choose and my personal development.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well structured as each year at university we will be learning new modules and expanding our knowledge. It also allows us to choose 1 of 4 pathways which we feel most comfortable with.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager is really supportive of what i want to work on and the training i want to do. There is also monthly review meetings with my manager and skills coach where i can address my progress and any problems.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a skills coach that i can ask questions and she will point me in the right direction. Also any reasonable time i need off to work on coursework or if there is university support days I am able to attend.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The work i do in university does help as i have done a lot of web development bu i feel like it is a little simple for me as i know more, but the course is also suited for people that are beginners so i guess it's decent. However, the JAVA i haven't used at work yet but i feel like i will use it in the future sometime and will be good.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a gym on site which u can buy a membership for and i think a couple people do a running session every week but i'm not too sure.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because it is a big company with many opportunities for you to move once graduated and has a lot of flexibility on the training courses you want to choose to improve your kills and better your knowledge. It has a lot of supporting and friendly employees working there but also pays well.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • Be yourself as Fujitsu is quite diverse and any person is given the same amount of opportunity. Have a set goal to know what you want to become and what you want to achieve as it helps a lot when choosing projects etc.
