  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role at AO is to plan and execute the onsite and offsite digital marketing for AO.com. I will liaise with large manufacturers on a daily basis to co-ordinate and plan the best marketing for their company / appliance. This includes being involved in the making of the creative all the way to where it will be seen on our website and our social media.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills from working at AO, personally i have no background in Marketing as i came straight from college. I have learnt the background of marketing and what goes on before a marketing campaign is live. I have also learnt many valuable skills such like working on Excel and other IT programs and also simple skills such as becoming more confident in a working environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program a lot, from the job i do to the people i work with there is nothing bad to say. Working at AO was my first full time job and everyone made me feel so welcome and where always willing to help me get the best out of my apprenticeship. AO takes pride in their values and this 100% shows in the company.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My program is very structured and works perfectly. There is always time dedicated to my apprenticeship to get the best out of it and the work i do on a daily basis can always be related back to a previous topic which i have studied. This really helps as i am learning whilst also using the skills i have learnt to complete my job. I am able to be independent and complete all my work on my own, however i always know that anyone i work with is more than happy to help.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive an amazing amount of support from my employer and from everyone in the business. I have a great manager who supports me not just with work but with anything i need a chat about, and the same goes for many people in the business. Support is offered so widely across our teams whether it is work issues or personal issues and no problem is ever left not mentioned. Everyone is aware we are learning, so they are always there to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a lot of support from out training provider, especially our mentor. We have regular check up's and calls as a group and one to one. I enjoy our sessions as it is a great way to see how everyone is doing and it has brought all of the apprentices closer as a group.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Every session we have in our training days are relevant to our current job roles. We are always learning different skills which we can take away to our role and adapt on. All the theory we learn we will practice on a day to day basis, it has defiantly helped with learning my job more.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have recently taken part in a local charity fundraising event where we where set the challenge to raise as much money as possible for a kids shelter local to our work. Our CEO is very involved in this charity so it was great to take part in! We competed against other company's in the surrounding area and we won with a huge amount of nearly £5,000
